This piece was inspired by DJ Shadow’s track, ‘Midnight In a Perfect World‘. I’ve produced several variations of this print, which will be uploaded in due course. A significant challenge faced during its creation was the excessive ink coverage from the orange background, causing the paper to warp and disrupting the registration. To address this, I made adjustments, incorporating a halftone background to minimise ink usage, thereby reducing both warping and paper shrinkage. The endeavour also presented issues related to room temperature and ink drying – invaluable lessons as I establish my home screen printing studio.
