Libyan Civil War

Shown are a series of hard ground etchings, these were produced on steel plates. The main tool used was a sharpened nail to which was used to draw into the ground on a steel plate. The use of steel as a plate for the etching has given this series of prints a grey tone, this is due to steel etching plates having a rough surface.

The prints shown used imagery from various newpaper clippings during the time of the Libyan civil war in 2011. Sadly I only have 1 copy of each etching left, due to the other copies being lost over time. I still have the original plates to print with, however they have rusted slightly.

If you have questions or queries about the shown artwork/design, please feel free to contact me.
