Saturday 23 January 2027
Time- 11am-4pm (with a 30 minute lunch break)
Class size small- 7 people only.
All materials included.
Refreshments will be provided.
16 yrs+ only
In this step-by-step practical workshop, you will learn how to make a multi colour reduction linocut print. It’s a destructive but exciting method of printing! You will be given an owl template to embellish, carve and print yourself. Discover the technique for creating a multi-colour print with only a single piece of lino.
Is It Right For Me?
This is a fun but, highly focused session as we are time limited. It is preferable that you have at least tried linocutting once or twice before. We will not be turning your own design into a multilayered print. We’ll be purely focusing on the reduction process and experimenting with mark making using an owl template designed by Marisa.
What You Will Learn
You will learn how to create a registration board for reduction printing, which helps keep each layer aligned. You’ll discover how to prepare paper and try out different ways to make marks and print so you can keep practicing yourself.
What You Will Take Home
At the end of the workshop you will take home your own limited edition 10cmx15cm owl reduction print and the confidence to continue reduction linocut printing at home.
