I found Hickman Designs via another printmaker online as they mentioned a new sharpening tool set they had discovered. I was fed up with paying to have my tools sharpened and as she mentioned she had purchased the EZ Care set from Hickman who were new to me I clicked on their website. Whilst ordering the sharpening set I found an amazing pair of Skull Scissors which I had to have along with some Cranfield safe wash printing ink. Hickson delivered free and quickly and I was really pleased with how the sharpening set worked especially as it will save me money. Will definitely use Hickman Designs again.

Blue Black – Cranfield Caligo Safe Wash Etching Ink 75ml
Blue Black combines the strength of a dark black with a subtle cool undertone that enhances depth within printed images. The colour works especially well for detailed illustrations, night scenes and prints requiring cooler shadow tones.
Like all inks in the Caligo Safe Wash range, it offers the characteristics of a traditional oil-based printmaking ink but with the advantage of simple soap and water cleanup. This allows artists to maintain professional print standards while reducing reliance on solvents.
The ink spreads smoothly when rolled out and maintains excellent body for plate wiping and printing. Its high pigment concentration ensures clear, consistent impressions whether used for etching, drypoint or relief methods.
Supplied in a convenient 75ml tube, Blue Black is suitable for both experienced printmakers and those building a versatile ink collection for studio use.
