White acrylic ink for screen printing

Choose the 8 fl oz jar of Speedball White Acrylic Screen Printing Ink for white elements in paper, card and wood-based screen-printing projects. The smaller jar is a practical format for trying a design, adding white to your ink palette or making a short series of prints. It is supplied as one jar of White from the acrylic screen ink range.

Test white against the chosen background

Start with a sample of the paper or card you intend to print. Compare the dried impression with the unprinted background before deciding on the final design. Try a bold shape, a small lettering panel or a repeated border, checking both the larger areas and the finer parts of the stencil. A test is especially useful when the background colour is an important part of the image; do not assume every surface will produce the same contrast.

Paper, wood and cardboard

This water-based ink is formulated for use with a screen and squeegee. Speedball lists paper, wood and cardboard as suitable surfaces. It is not intended for washfast fabric printing. For changes in consistency, use an appropriate screen-printing modifier rather than adding water.

Colour and studio care

Speedball rates White as Excellent for lightfastness, and the Acrylic Screen Printing Ink range is listed with ACMI AP certification. Clean ink from the screen and tools with soap and water before it dries, and follow the directions supplied with the ink.

Choose the container size

Select this 8 fl oz size for a smaller project or a compact studio palette. The 32 fl oz White option is available for a larger supply of the same colour. Keep a sample impression with a note of the paper and stencil used so you can return to a successful combination when planning another project.
