Fabric screen printing colour

Permaset Aqua Green is a water-based fabric screen printing ink supplied in a 300ml container. Made in Australia, it combines pigment colour with a soft feel on fabric. Choose this colour for botanical motifs and leafy patterns, and plan your print around the actual fabric colour.

Choosing your application

This ink belongs to the Standard colour range for light toned textiles. Use it for individual colour areas, repeating patterns or layered designs. Its transparent character allows the underlying fabric colour to influence the result. Test overlapping colours before committing to your final design.

Printing and curing

Use a water resistant stencil that has been fully dried and cured. Keep your printing tools clean and work consistently across the design. Heat cure the finished print according to the Permaset instructions and the heat tolerance of your fabric. A dry surface alone does not confirm a complete cure. Wash test a sample before producing a full batch.

Studio notes

For a repeatable result, record your fabric, screen mesh, printing passes and curing method. Keep a labelled sample alongside those notes so you can compare later prints. Start with a small trial rather than using your finished garment as the first test. Before printing, organise a clear space for the wet pieces and decide how you will identify each test. Label the colour and fabric combination immediately. This makes comparisons easier when you return to the project, particularly if you are trying several designs or different materials during the same session. Keep your reference samples organised together for future studio colour planning sessions.
