Description
Hickman Design Printmaking Paper Registration Corners – Pack of 2
The Hickman Design Printmaking Paper Registration Corners make it easier to centre your paper and achieve an even border around your print. Supplied as a pack of two, they can be positioned around your lino block to provide a simple and repeatable registration system.
Each registration corner has two 20cm-long outer edges, forming a 20 × 20cm right angle. The 5cm-wide arms feature markings at every 1cm, allowing you to quickly set a consistent border of up to 5cm around your artwork.
A handy ruler is also engraved along the inside edge to help centre smaller lino blocks. Before inking, position your lino and measure from your chosen border mark on the left to the matching border mark on the right. The total measurement gives you the exact paper width required. Repeat the process vertically to calculate the correct paper height. This makes cutting paper to the right size much quicker and reduces unnecessary measuring or guesswork.
The registration corners are made from 3mm MDF. Standard 3.2mm lino should sit slightly above the surface, allowing the system to be used with many printing presses as well as for hand printing with a baren, spoon or similar tool.
Each corner also includes two projecting fixing tabs measuring approximately 2 × 3cm. These can be taped to your work surface to prevent movement during printing or secured more permanently using screws. Once everything is positioned, your paper can be taped to the registration corners, helping it return to the same position for each impression.
Ideal for linocut, reduction printing, multi-block printing and other relief-printing techniques where consistent paper placement is essential.
