Hickman Design 2-Hole Registration Tabs
Hickman Design 2-Hole Registration Tabs are made for printmakers who need a durable, reliable registration tab for repeated press work. Produced from 350 micron Mylar, these tabs are thicker and more hard-wearing than lighter alternatives, making them well suited to long print runs, heavy press pressure and regular studio use.
Each tab measures 50 x 25mm, making it slightly larger than many standard registration tabs. This gives you a practical surface for attaching your paper while helping maintain accurate alignment throughout your edition. They are designed to work with Hickman Design Registration Pins, giving printmakers a simple and effective registration setup for lino printing, woodcut, relief printing and other printmaking processes.
The main feature is the 2-hole design. Each tab has one hole at either end, so if one side becomes worn, stretched or damaged, you can simply flip the tab around and use the other hole. This helps extend the life of each tab and gives you more use from every pack.
On first use, the tabs may feel slightly tight when fitted onto the pin. This is normal and they should wear in with use. When placing the tab onto the pin, make sure it is fully pressed down and seated correctly. You may hear or feel a small click as it fits into place.
When using these tabs with the 2.0mm Hickman Design Registration Pins, take extra care to ensure the tab is fully pushed down, as there is slightly less pin height to hold the tab. The thicker Mylar material helps provide a secure hold once properly seated.
