Strathmore Lightweight Printmaking Paper Pad – 120gsm – 5 x 7in
The Strathmore 300 Series Lightweight Printmaking Paper Pad is designed for relief printing, proofing and practising new printmaking techniques. Its compact 5 x 7in (12.7×17.8cm) size is ideal for smaller prints, test impressions, greeting cards, sketchbook work and experimenting with different inks or carved blocks.
Each pad contains 40 sheets of natural white, 120gsm paper with a medium-textured surface. The paper is soft enough to produce clear impressions by hand, while remaining durable enough to absorb generous amounts of ink without easily breaking down or losing its structure.
It is particularly well suited to relief techniques such as linocut, woodcut, block printing and stamp printing. The lightweight construction also makes it a practical choice for proofing a design before using a heavier or more expensive paper for the final edition.
Made from high alpha cellulose wood fibre, the paper is acid-free, helping finished prints remain stable when stored or displayed correctly. Its natural white colour provides a softer alternative to bright white papers and works well with both bold and subtle ink colours.
The medium surface texture adds a gentle character to printed marks while still allowing carved details and areas of solid colour to transfer effectively. Sheets can be used with a printing press, baren, spoon or other hand-printing methods, depending on the technique and ink being used.
