A compact Rabby block for small stamp designs

The Michihamono Rabby Card-Size Rubber Stamp Carving Block is a compact option for a small motif or short lettering design. Its approximate 90 × 55 mm working area is easy to plan on paper before transferring the image. The block is 10 mm thick and made from TPR, or thermoplastic rubber, developed for carving handmade stamps.

Use both coloured faces

Rabby rubber has a three-layer construction, with colour on each outer surface. As you carve away the face, the contrast helps you distinguish cleared spaces from the parts of the design that remain. Both faces are usable: plan a different motif on the reverse, or keep one side for trying out a small design before developing a more detailed stamp.

The included grid tracing paper helps you position a drawing and check its proportions. For a first project, a leaf, simple symbol or bold letter gives you a manageable design to practise. Leave space around the motif so you can see where the printed edge should finish.

From a drawing to a repeatable impression

Transfer your design, then remove the areas that should not print. Keep lettering reversed on the block so it reads correctly in the finished impression. Use controlled cuts and make a trial print before removing more material. A proof often reveals small background marks that are hard to judge from the carved surface alone.

The finished stamp can be used on cards, tags or repeated patterns with a suitable ink. Carving tools and stamp ink are sold separately, so choose them for your intended project.
