Incredible customer support! I ordered registration pins & tabs. The tabs are thick and really nice while the pins are strong, but elegantly thin and crafted really well. I’m thrilled to have them in my toolkit.

A wonderful experience from start to finish. Hickman Design has a fantastic range of printmaking supplies, and I was delighted with the quality of the Essdee lino sheets and Japanese rubber brayer I ordered.
The service was incredibly speedy, delivery was quick, and everything was carefully packaged with obvious care and attention. It’s always lovely to support a business that clearly values both its products and its customers.
As someone rediscovering printmaking, I really appreciated being able to find quality materials in one place. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back for future supplies.

I found Hickman Designs via another printmaker online as they mentioned a new sharpening tool set they had discovered. I was fed up with paying to have my tools sharpened and as she mentioned she had purchased the EZ Care set from Hickman who were new to me I clicked on their website. Whilst ordering the sharpening set I found an amazing pair of Skull Scissors which I had to have along with some Cranfield safe wash printing ink. Hickson delivered free and quickly and I was really pleased with how the sharpening set worked especially as it will save me money. Will definitely use Hickman Designs again.

Essdee Block Lino Printing Ink Rollers
Essdee Block Lino Printing Ink Rollers, each with distinct features and designed for specific needs in printmaking, are a valuable asset in any artist’s toolkit. Let’s delve into the details of these three types:
- Blue Handle Soft Rubber Rollers (Soft Brayer):
- Design and Material: These rollers are crafted to be more compliant, particularly on uneven surfaces. The soft 40 shore EPDM rubber roller is key to their design, ensuring excellent ink coverage with minimal effort.
- User-Friendly: With their forgiving nature and efficient ink transfer, they are a popular choice amongst both novices and seasoned practitioners in the field.
- Ideal For: Those starting out in printmaking or dealing with more textured surfaces will find these rollers exceptionally useful.
- Red Handle Standard Rollers:
- Construction: These are robust, hard-rubber ink rollers, perfect for the rigours of printmaking. The 70 shore EPDM rubber roller, complemented by an aluminium core and self-lubricating nylon bearings, speaks to their durability and efficiency.
- Versatility: Equipped with a continuous steel shaft and rigid steel brackets, these rollers are not just for artistic endeavours but also for industrial applications like applying window films and vehicle graphics.
- User Convenience: The unbreakable polypropylene handle, which doubles as a stand and features a hanging slot, adds to its practicality. Suitable for both water and oil-based inks, these rollers cater to a wide range of printing requirements.
- Black Handle Professional Rollers:
- Professional Grade: Designed for the seasoned artist, these heavyweight rollers are geared towards achieving flawless printing results.
- Specifications: They feature a medium-hard (60 shore) EPDM rubber roller with a large circumference (122mm / 4.5”), facilitating greater ink retention and enhanced transfer.
- Ideal Usage: Particularly useful for larger printing blocks, they ensure smooth, consistent, and precise printing, making them a go-to for professional-level projects.
All these rollers come in a variety of sizes ranging from 50mm to 300mm, accommodating a wide spectrum of printing needs. Whether you’re a beginner, an experienced artist, or a professional, Essdee’s range of Block Lino Printing Ink Rollers offers the right tool for every printmaking task.
