Give a stamped detail its own space

Try Poppy Red for a flower head surrounded by separately stamped green leaves, a heart pattern across a greeting card or a row of small marks along a gift tag. A repeated red shape can also form a simple border while leaving the centre available for a handwritten message. Draw a rough layout before stamping and experiment with the distance between motifs. A test on the actual paper or fabric will help you judge the colour and placement together.

Using the large pad

Lightly ink the stamp, make a trial impression and check that the whole design has received ink. Work on a stable surface and lift the stamp without rocking it. Let the impression dry before handling the printed area. When combining colours, clean the stamp between pads or use a separate stamp for each colour.
